Core is a modern term that typically describes the abdominal muscles as they effect the lower back and pelvis. However, muscles that engage to stabilize the bones in healthy alignment (the actual core muscles) can be found anywhere in the body. Ultimately, “core” may designate any deep fibers that we awaken to bring greater ease not only to our yoga poses, but also to the movements of our daily lives.
