Tai Chi: New Class, Ancient Practice

Jonathan Lind joins us on Monday evenings from 4:30- 5:30 pm offering lessons in the ancient practice of Tai Chi.  An ancient Chinese martial art and health exercise based on Taoist philosophy that emphasizes deep relaxation of mind and body, promotes core strength, improves balance and helps in the prevention of falls. Regular practice brings about a sense of wellbeing, boosts blood circulation, and increases the mobility of joints. It stretches and tones muscles, ligaments and tendons, and improves posture. The use of Mindfulness practices incorporated during Mr. Lind’s beginner’s instruction allows participants to begin to feel the deeper benefits of Tai Chi in a more time efficient way.

Jonathan Lind has over 32 years’ experience practicing Tai Chi and has studied the art in New York City, Virginia Beach, the Baltimore-Washington DC area, and the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2016 he completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course of study and has woven those principles into his instructional style for Tai Chi.
