Ultimate Torso Workshop: Roberta Strickler, 10/22, 1-3 p

Balancing action and releasing major and minor muscular groups, we will discover precise mechanics- and perhaps, realize a new and deeper connections between our physical matter, bodily mechanics, and the energy that drives it all.

Employing focus and pranayama, Roberta will diligently guide Students through the intricacies of the torso. Be prepared for detailed Asana that will incorporate a refined view of alignment, fascia, and complex movements toward an intense personal understanding of the kinematic chain. Beginning with the shoulders, Students will travel south, throughout the spine, explore the low back, and then onto the hips. The chain of lengthening the spine, elongating the side body, and keeping the heart lifted - these actions will work together to refine posture, and possibly a deeper sense of equanimity. The following meditation and savasana will allow for a settling of these new nero-muscular and energetic connections deep within. Roberta will offer variations for those that would like to be gentler on their knees. While you will feel restored afterwards, this is not a restorative class - there are standing poses that will utilize muscle engagement and endurance. Open to all practitioners, props will be used and are available in Our Studio without fees. Be prepared to move, engage, and explore.

Early Bird Enrollment Through October 12th, $30

After Oct 12 Enrollment:  Members $30, Reg. $35
